【在宅透析×英語学習】今回のテーマは"英語で自己紹介"（英音声＆日英字幕）

テーマ：英語で自己紹介

テーマを「自己紹介」とした理由は、過去の苦い経験からです。

過去に何度か、オンライン英会話を体験したことがあります（毎度、長続きしませんでした…）。

基本はマンツーマンレッスン。

会話の取っ掛かりとして、簡単な自己紹介をするケースは、ままあります。

• 腎移植をしたこと
• その移植腎が廃絶したこと
• その後、在宅血液透析をしていること

これら全てでないにせよ

相手に自分のオリジナリティを示すに十分な材料を、我ながら持っていると思ってるのですが

いざ「英語で」表現する、となると、いつもしどろもどろに…

そこで一度、"模範解答"的な自己紹介を作ろう！

と思ったのが、キッカケです。

皆さん、こんにちは。

このクラスに参加させていただくことになりました、DAISUKEです。

私は過去10年間、ユニークな"医療の旅"をしてきました。

始まりは腎臓移植手術で、母が無私の心で腎臓を私に提供してくれました。

残念ながら、移植された腎臓は期待通りに機能せず、10年ほどで廃絶してしまいました。

それでも、母の寛大な行為は、私の心の中で常に特別な位置を占めています。

私が直面した困難に対して、私は自分の健康を管理するために別のアプローチを選びました。

多くの患者様が週に3回受ける、クリニックで広く行われている血液透析の代わりに、私は在宅血液透析を選びました。

つまり、私は従来のクリニックのルーチンを経験したことがないのです。

実際、私はかなりの回数の在宅血液透析セッションをこなしてきました。

週に6回、10年間、透析回数は合計で3000回近くになります。

私の"透析の旅"には困難もありましたが、全身状態はそれなりに保つことができました。

困難がなかったわけではありませんが、私はこのユニークな健康管理方法に満足感を見出すことを学びました。

このクラスで皆さんと経験を分かち合い、英語力を向上させることを楽しみにしています。

皆さんと一緒にこの"学びの旅"に出たいと思っています。

Hello, everyone, I'm DAI, and I'm delighted to be a part of this online English class.

I've been on a unique medical journey for the past decade.

It all started with a kidney transplant operation, where my mother selflessly donated her kidney to me.

Unfortunately, the transplanted kidney didn't function as expected, and it lasted for only about ten years.

Nevertheless, her act of generosity will always hold a special place in my heart.

In response to the challenges I faced, I chose an alternative approach to managing my health.

Instead of the widely practiced clinic-based hemodialysis, which many patients undergo three times a week, I opted for home hemodialysis.

This means I've never experienced the conventional clinic routine.

In fact, I've completed a substantial number of home hemodialysis sessions—six times a week for a decade, totaling nearly three thousand sessions.

While my dialysis journey has had its share of difficulties, I've managed to maintain a reasonably good overall condition.

I've learned to find satisfaction in this unique way of managing my health, even though it hasn't been without its challenges.

I'm looking forward to sharing my experiences and improving my English skills alongside all of you in this class.

Thank you for welcoming me, and I'm eager to embark on this learning journey together with all of you.
